GYU KING Teppanyaki

From the moment we stepped in we where welcomed. We took my dad and his partner for teppanyaki. It was inclusive warming welcoming and eleven courses.

  1. We began with a season greens salad seasoned with a sesame vinaigrette , with a thin fillet of salmon sashimi . Delightful and enough to keep me good until the next dish.

2. Our second dish was a lobster miso soup. Small portions for both dishes. These both had the effect of enticing your taste buds and exciting you to eat more. The miso full of flavour and with small bits of lobster to nibble.

3. Atlantic lobster tail and claw. Rich food accompanied by three sauces: a sesame ginger dip, a lemon dip and a tomato sauce. Not your conventional tomato sauce, just better, really light and full of flavour. All cooked to perfection in front of you.

4. Salmon steak topped with dried garlic. Again, so delicious, could not have been prepared better.

5. Jumbo Scallops, delightful. Cooked perfectly. Wish we had more.

6. Prawns, three of them, no tails and cleaned. Cooked great.

7. AAA beef Tenderloin steak. We got rare, and a couple pieces med rare, it was because they where sliced into     bites. So tendered and full of flavour.

8. Sliced Ribeye usuyaki wrapped over green onions and dried garlic.Yes, we love garlic. Ribeye melted in your mouth and the green onions and garlic added a crunchy texture.

9. Beef fried rice, was AMAZING! My dad did not have a break at it as he is a fried rice type of guy. All cooked on the flat top grill. Great texture and flavour.

10. Steamed enoki mushrooms with cabbage, broccoli and bean sprouts. As the vegetables came into my plate, Meli decided to added them into her fried rice and what a great idea. It gave it the perfect crunch at the end.

11. Last but not least! Matcha green tea gelato. Oh wow! definitely one of our favourite choices and this one was delicious and a great end to an amazing dinner.

Among all this wonderful food, my tea was always topped up and my water never empty. And always feeling so welcome and warm. I never felt out of place or like I was a burden. It was an absolute delight, our servers and our chef were magnificent. In my life I’m not sure if I have ever been treated so well . The customer service was impeccable, so helpful and accommodating but never in my way. We where treated like the only people there among a room of 20 customers. All of our dishes besides the salad, the soup and the Ice cream were cooked on the flat top. The chef was humble and the meal entertaining.

For me this is in my top 3 dining experiences of all time and I recommend to go and enjoy it at Gyu King teppanyaki.

The food was outstanding the quality and quantity worth every penny. The service over the top. And the atmosphere amazing. I was almost reduced to tears to see my dad so happy and to see all of us treated with such dignity and class. It was outstanding. It is very seldom I almost brought to tears by a culinary experience but this day I was overwhelmed with the attention to detail and generosity of the over all experience.
