North 54.
1493 3rd Ave, Prince George, BC, Canada

It was decided that our farewell dinner leaving our current residence in Prince George would be at North 54, which is debatably the highest dining experience in Prince George and the northern interior for that matter. From the outside it stands out with tacky stickers, but once inside you feel a warmth and charm that the unique layout has to offer.

Meli & me were surrounded by family, and from the beginning we were attended with comfort, ease and professionalism, our server was gracious and charming. The atmosphere was busy on a mid-week Wednesday night, we sunk into an evening of exceptional experience.
Our appetizer, a “Grilled Romaine Spear” was a half romaine grilled and dressed with a house caesar , topped with bacon, cheese and croutons. I loved it other than the fact you are served a half romaine as is. It does lend this to laziness or the name Grilled romaine spear or a combination of the two. Other than that, the startling appearance and the lack of dressing to accompany a half romaine it was swell.

Meli ordered Veal Scaloppini, it was dynamite! Every bite leaving you in satisfaction alongside discontentment as you know it will end eventually adding to the appreciation you have for this dish. Grilled veal with traditional spätzle topped with a delicious morel cream sauce alongside seasonal vegetables.

I ordered the “Fraser Valley Duck Breast” & was not disappointed, the breast accompanied by a side of seasonal vegetables on a bed of lemon parmesan risotto. A rich dish balanced by a Cassis pan sauce. The duck was delicate, and my only regret was that there wasn’t more duck breast. Neither I nor the chef can control the size of said duck breast, so given our circumstances it was very well.
For dessert we shared among us a tiramisu; it was rich, creamy and delicate, nothing more than a good dish.
The overall experience was great, with small things that I may change personally, the stickers on the exterior façade and the text labeling dinner on the menu did not accurately describe The restaurant we were at. So small almost not worth mentioning. We had incredible service with fantastic food, and a cozy experience.
