Nancy O’s dinning out night
We are almost leaving Prince George and though we had to go and keep our end of the bargain. Some weeks ago we flipped a coin between Nancy O’s and Twisted cork. Today is the Day we have one of our favorites among the local restaurants in pg.
At first we were going to dine in but we decided to dine out taking the food to go as there was a cover for a live music performance and we weren’t just feeling it.

Meli ordered the Italian prawn fettuccini at a whopping $27, prawns and chorizo were cook really good and had a great taste, The pasta was cooked to perfection and the light tomato sauce was a perfect choice to balance the flavors. It Did not come with a garlic bread or any side, which for the price I would of expected.
I ordered the Chicken and waffles for $23 and was unfortunately disappointed, why you may ask because they offer a spectacular dish of chicken and waffles the chicken as always was succulent and cooked to perfection, but tasted as thought it was cooked I old oil and left me tasting everything cooked in there oil prior to my dish. The waffles where great and fluffy as I expected as I have had the dish many times and it is a favorite of mine. The chili infused maple syrup was full of flavor and originality. The slaw was old almost on the point of fermentation. I don’t like leaving reviews with a negative feel but I don’t like lying even more so as I stated before with my dish I was unfortunately disappointed.

The fettuccini for the price was excessive considering the portion and the lack of a side, but was a mouth full of flavor and left you with more than enough prawns to fill your appetite. The Chicken and waffles is on most circumstances worth the 23 dollars but today left me grasping for memories of former experiences having this dish. So 23 dollars for this dish this time, was not justified.
Overall the service was fantastic although brief and the atmosphere although very short lived was pleasant. The restaurant had live music and wasn’t packed like it usually is so I expected our food to be outstanding. It fell short of its glory formerly dignified in my eyes.
Price 3/5
Atmosphere 4/5
Food 3/5
I was disappointed with what is usually a well rounded experience but left us feeling light pockets and looking at the nostalgia of past experiences. I hope that when we come back we can review Nancy O’s again and give it the highly touted review it deserves.
