Our fist restaurant in Vancouver. So authentic, the servers spoke little to no English, leaving excitement in the air, as though travelling abroad and having a bit of a surprise whether my serve and I where reading the same menu. We were given a nice cup of rice tea, which Meli & I enjoyed very much.

We started with miso soup; it was full of flavor and closer to a broth than anything else without much tofu or seaweed.

Right after we got the assorted sushi combo ($16.95) which had 3 pieces of salmon, 3 pieces of tuna, 6 pieces of kappa roll, salmon & tuna sashimi and 4 pieces nigiri. All pieces were good size for the price and the sashimi and seafood tasted like they were reeled in that day.

The other dish we got, and we were feeling a little bit adventurous, was the seafood Yakisoba ($12.95) which the description only told us it was pan-fried egg noodle with seafood. We gave it a try, as every time we go out for sushi we just stick to the sashimi and roll style, and “wow” this dish was amazing. We weren’t sure about what was in this sweet and savory sauce so we threw a couple ideas to the air, Meli and I were going for a kinda smokey flavor, even maybe had a BBQ taste to it, but definitely it has to have some worcestershire sauce and maybe a hint of sesame?

Oh well, something we might never find out as we didn’t ask, by way of the restaurant started to get busy, Meli & I say we have a “good back” (Colombian saying) most of the times restaurants get busy after we go in, or maybe that’s just what we wanna think. Any ways the sauce was different & delicious, and the dish had definitely a great amount of seafood for the price. We ate the whole dish; we couldn’t stop talking about it.

The service was great, sometimes lost in translation. They were busy and didn’t really attend to us after we had ordered. Overall service was a 2.5/5
The atmosphere in our seating was accommodating comfortably for 6 or so people only two of us made for a rather intimate setting as we had a booth dividing us from other guests. It was busy but left us with a private nook to enjoy our meal and feel cozy. The atmosphere transported me to Japan or the closest thing we have come to being in Japan we rate the atmosphere a 4.5/5. Decorated and intimate little-to-no English and food that was so fresh it was the catch of the day.
We payed and left really happy with the experience and the food we just wanted to let you guys know about this (don’t know how much of a) hidden gem on West Broadway.
Last but not least the food as you can tell was spot on we were delighted and I would give a 4.5/5
Food 4.5/5
Atmosphere 4.5/5
Service 2.5/5
